چکیده

Wilson’s numerical renormalization-group method is used to study the paramagnetic ground state of the periodic Anderson model within the dynamical mean-field approach. For the particle-hole symmetric model, which is a Kondo insulator, we find that the lattice Kondo scale T0 is strongly enhanced over the impurity scale TK ; T0 /TK}exp$1/3I%, where I is the Schrieffer-Wolff exchange coupling. In the metallic regime, where the conduction-band filling is reduced from one, we find characteristic signatures of Nozières’ exhaustion scenario, including a strongly reduced lattice Kondo scale, a significant suppression of the states available to screen the f-electron moment, and a Kondo resonance with a strongly enhanced height. However, in contrast to the quantitative predictions of Nozières, we find that the T0}TK with a coefficient that depends strongly on conduction-band filling.

A periodic folded piezoelectric beam for efficient vibration energy harvesting

Periodic piezoelectric beams have been used for broadband vibration energy harvesting in recent years. In this paper, a periodic folded piezoelectric beam (PFPB) is introduced. The PFPB has special features that distinguish it from other periodic piezoelectric beams. The Adomian decomposition method (ADM) is used to calculate the first two band gaps andtwelve natural frequencies of the PF...

Dynamics and scaling in the periodic Anderson model

The periodic Anderson model (PAM) captures the essential physics of heavy fermion materials. Yet even for the paramagnetic metallic phase, a practicable many-body theory that can simultaneously handle all energy scales while respecting the dictates of Fermi liquid theory at low energies, and all interaction strengths from the strongly correlated Kondo lattice through to weak coupling, has remai...

Dynamics and Transport Properties of Heavy Fermions: Theory

The paramagnetic phase of heavy fermion systems is investigated, using a non-perturbative local moment approach to the asymmetric periodic Anderson model within the framework of dynamical mean field theory. The natural focus is on the strong coupling Kondo-lattice regime wherein single-particle spectra, scattering rates, d.c. transport and optics are found to exhibit (ω/ω L , T /ω L) scaling in...

Periodic Solutions of the Duffing Harmonic Oscillator by He's Energy Balance Method

Duffing harmonic oscillator is a common model for nonlinear phenomena in science and engineering. This paper presents He´s Energy Balance Method (EBM) for solving nonlinear differential equations. Two strong nonlinear cases have been studied analytically. Analytical results of the EBM are compared with the solutions obtained by using He´s Frequency Amplitude Formulation (FAF) and numerical solu...

Energy Efficiency in Iran Provinces: DEA Approach

The main aim of this paper is to evaluate the energy efficiency in 30 provinces of Iran by applying the different methods of DEA and Anderson and Peterson during the period of 2009-2013. Also, since classical analysis models do not differentiate efficient cases, the AP method (Anderson-Peterson) was used to rank efficient units for evaluating efficiency correctly. So that combination of input v...
